​ADEPT/Red Ribbon Week - Red Ribbon Week (October 23-27, 2023) is a national event

honoring Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a DEA special agent whose life was taken in 1985 by

drug traffickers.  It is a fun-filled week of daily themes designed to support the hopes and

beliefs that our children will choose to be drug-free. This year's theme is "Be Kind To Your

Mind. Live Drug Free.Students will be able to sign daily pledges during lunch for the

chance of prizes per lunch per day! Stay tuned for more information soon!

Advocacy - Supports Tejeda students, family and staff with updates regarding the legislative process while advocating for the well-being, safety and welfare of all students. Visit our advocacy page for more information! 

 

Arts in Education - It's time for Reflections!  Reflections is a National PTA Art Contest. Students may create and submit original works in: dance choreography, film productions, literature, musical

composition, photography and visual arts.  The theme for 2023-2024 is "I'm hopeful because...!"

Start brainstorming your original piece now! 

 

 

Campus Beautification - Ensure Tejeda’s campus reflects the spirit and pride of our students, families and community. Assists with various clean up projects on campus for the entrances, gardens, History Hill, & more!

 

Clothes Closet / Lost & Found - Tejeda PTA supports, volunteers at and collects donations for the NorthEast Council of PTA's Clothes Closet. This program provides free articles of gently used clothing for children across the district thru the coordination of campus family specialists. Unclaimed items in the Tejeda lost & found (back of the library) that can be used for the clothes closet will be donated twice a year. 

 

Eighth Grade Party - Let's celebrate our 8th Grade T-Wolves with a day of fun and celebration at the end of the school year. Tejeda PTA coordinates a day of activities, food, drinks, games & music. All eligible 8th graders will get detailed information in May. Don't forget to purchase an 8th grade spirit tshirt to wear on Wednesdays all year long and to the 8th grade party!!

Healthy Lifestyles - The Tejeda PTA provides support to the nurse as needed throughout the year, Field Day and other avenues to support a healthy lifestyle.  View the Healthy T-Wolves tab on our website for more information related to health concerns or health facts. Tejeda PTA has also partnered with Girl Scouts to create a vegetable garden in the back of the campus. Visit our Healthy Lifestyles page for more information!

 

History Faire Hospitality Support - Tejeda PTA provides support for History Faire with marketing and advertising plus a vendor/re-enactor hospitality suite throughout the day. 

 

Student Volunteer Service Awards -  Tejeda PTA recognizes student volunteer service hours in two ways:  NEISD Student Volunteer Service Award (SVSA) & The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). Click below for more information on the programs and how to enter service hours. All hours earned between April 1, 2023-March 31, 2024 are eligible and should be logged online by visiting the NEISD Portal. Deadline for hours to be entered is March 31, 2024.

Special Projects - Volunteers are needed to help serve our T-Wolves birthday cake at the end of each month. This committee also supports admin with special requests for Veterans' Day, during the holidays and throughout the year. 

 

Student Activities - Tejeda PTA partners with Tejeda Middle School club and organization sponsors. Tejeda MS offers a variety of clubs and organizations to students in all grades with a variety of interests. Visit the Tejeda MS website and click on STUDENTS for a full list of clubs and organizations.
